A little post by me to convince those non believers that engaging with their customers in social media is a must.

I continue to be a Wordpress fan and my personal blog has been hosted on the Wordpress platform on Fatideas.com
Earlier today I wrote my last FatIdeas post. I’ve turned to a new platform Tumblr which is now hosting AdrianMelrose.com. I’m late to the Tumblr Party as in June11, Mashable reported that the number of Tumblr users surpassed Wordpress.com.
Tumblr is different to Wordpress in a number of ways. It feels like a nifty blend of Twitter and Wordpress. You can create your own Tumblr news stream by following other Tumblr members allowing you to share their content. The flip-side of this is you can expect to achieve better social engagement as there is a predefined audience within the Tumblr community who will, in turn, spread your word (if it’s any worth anything!)
Tumblr does a great job of aggregating all the media I create *and* consume. Here you’ll get a complete snapshot of my social media footprint. Blog posts like this one will be accompanied by my Instagram and Flickr Photos, my Vimeo video posts together with other people’s media that strikes a chord with me: things I want to share.
This move has been inspired by my good friend, Jamie Riddell who moved to Tumblr long before I did - you ought to check out the Digital Tomorrow Today’s Tumblr and consider signing up to their Directors Briefing.
Thanks for joining me on Tumblr.
